Drug Screening FAQ's

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why did the school adopt this policy?  Area schools have incorporated the policy.  Booster club members requested that we discuss it with a student panel.  The panel agreed 10-0 that it would be good for the culture of MFHS.  The MFHS Booster club is paying for all screening services.  

How will students be selected?  A third party agency with Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin will current receive a list of all students involved in extracurricular activities.  The group will receive their six digit identification number and NOT their name, grade, gender, etc.  The third party group will randomly select the number of students requested.

Who is facilitating the testing?  An onsite professional from Froedtert will visit MFHS.  They will collect the sample and provide results.

Where will the collection take place?  The urine collection will take place in the MFHS nurses office.

How often will the tests be performed?  The tests will be performed each month of the school year.

How many drugs will the test detect?  The test that Froedtert will use is an 11 screen test.  It will test for: Amphetamines; Barbiturates; Benzodiazepines; Buprenorphine / Metabolite; Cannabinoids; Cocaine / Metabolites; MDMA; Methadone / Metabolite; Opiates; Oxycodone / Oxymorphone; Phencyclidine
